Created out of a desire to bring macro production to the UK, Contact was born in January 2021.

As climbers and setters, we are constantly on the hunt for shapes that open the door to beautiful movements, classic blocs, and great moments. After hundreds of hours of R&D in our Sheffield workshop, we are bringing to market what we believe is the best range of macros ever produced in the UK. After making hold orders ourselves, we know how expensive, time-consuming and inpersonal hold orders are becoming. We aim to provide great service, and will be with you every step of the process to ensure you know what is happening with your holds.

These shapes are just the beginning. Many more shapes are on their way as we look to make Contact an industry leader in climbing hold production!

Who are we?

Max Ayrton

Max is one of the most prolific routesetters in the UK. If you’ve climbed on Max’s blocs, you’ll know his signature dynamic and flowy style. Having set for countless national and international level competitions and at walls across the UK, Max knows what makes a good boulder and the holds needed to do that. Max has been experimenting with making holds for over a decade, but this launch marks the beginning of a new era of quality, durability, and professionalism.

Alex Waterhouse

Alex is a competition climber, member of the GB team, and lover of exceptional movement. Born in Devon and currently living in Sheffield to train for International competitions, Alex has competed across the world for over 10 years. He’s bringing that experience to Contact to create holds that climbers love to climb and that competitors are excited to walk out to on the competition mats.
